Tuition fees at the University of Otago will go up by 6.3% next year.
The university council decided on the increases at a meeting in Dunedin on Tuesday.
The increases include 4% for GST-exclusive fees paid by New Zealand students, as well as the rise in the rate of GST to 15%.
A report that recommended the fee changes states the university is continuing to face cost increases, with salary costs the most significant.
Post-graduate nursing will not be affected by the rise applied to GST-exclusive fees.
