Firefighters have contained a fire at Southbridge in Canterbury.
The blaze broke out in strong winds yesterday and destroyed two sheds housing vintage cars.
Crews have spent much of the day dousing pine forestry slash.
Fire and Emergency says diggers are turning over the remaining hotspots and there will be some smoke in the area for the next few days.
The cause of the fire isn't yet known.
Strong winds caused issues in other parts of the country, lifting the roof off the Carterton Indoor Pool, and also causing lanes on Auckland's Harbour Bridge to be closed this morning.
All wind warnings have been lifted now but road snowfall warnings are in place forthe Crown Range Road from 4pm to 8pm today.
Warnings are also in place from 8pm tonight for Porters Pass (SH73) and from 10pm for Lewis Pass (SH7) and Arthur's Pass (SH73). The Desert Road (SH1) has a warning from 5am to 9am tomorrow.
Remutaka Hill Road (SH2), which links Wellington to Wairarapa, reopened overnight after being closed due to strong winds.
