Off-peak train services in the Wellington region will be replaced by buses on Tuesday as drivers and staff stop work for the annual general meeting of the Rail and Maritime Transport Union.

All Metlink rail services between 9am and 3pm would be replaced by bus services.

A spokesperson said the company fully supported union members attending the meeting and apologised to customers for any inconvenience.

Passengers were advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.

Bus replacement timetables and stop locations were available on the Metlink website and app.
