A senior first responder facing child exploitation charges will keep his name hidden after fresh charges have been laid against him.
The man, aged in his 50s, appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Thursday afternoon on five charges relating to the possession and exportation of child exploitation material.
The charges were brought by Customs earlier this year.
Interim suppression of the man's name and occupation was due to lapse, however, his lawyer Craig Ruane sought an extension to the order after revealing four new charges have been laid in recent days.
Details of the charges were not discussed in court, however, Ruane said it was likely pleas would be entered at the man's next appearance next month.
