A boil water notice has been issued for Thompson Street in central Wellington following the repair of a burst water main.
Authorities say there is a low risk that the water has been contaminated with bacteria following the repair.
Water was being tested.
Meanwhile, a water tanker was available for residents, and bottled water was also available.
