Post-mortem had been carried out on Dargaville skull

A pathologist has told police a human skull found at a Dargaville beach had been the subject of a post mortem before its discovery a few weeks ago.

The skull was found by an Australian tourist in sand dunes at Glinks Gully following unusually high tides.

Police say markings on the skull give some idea to how the person died, but they are not releasing details until they have the full post mortem report.
