Police investigating the death of Lower Hutt toddler Baby Ru last year have confirmed three adults are still "persons of interest" in the case.
It is 200 days today since the little boy - now officially named Nga Reo Te Huatahi Reremoana Ahipene-Wall - died in Hutt Hospital, two days before his second birthday.
In an interview with Stuff, his mother, Storm Wall, said she was not responsible for his death, and described her desperate attempts to revive him on the way to hospital.
Detective Inspector Nick Pritchard, who is heading the investigation, said "three adults known to Ru continue to be considered persons of interest in this matter".
The three people who were in the Poole Street house at the time the child received a massive blunt force trauma to his head were his mother, another woman called Rosie Morunga and her partner Dylan Ross.
"A dedicated team is reviewing a significant amount of material and following active lines of enquiry," he said in a written statement to RNZ.
"For operational reasons, Police are unable to comment on specific details at this stage of our investigation.
"Police are determined to get justice for Baby Ru and provide closure for his whānau and the wider community."
