Police are combing through farmland on the outskirts of Christchurch on Thursday, looking for missing real estate agent Yanfei Bao.
A homicide investigation was launched soon after the 44-year-old disappeared in July.
Last month, Tingjun Cao appeared in Christchurch District Court charged with Bao's kidnapping and murder.
On Friday, officers were searching on foot along both sides of Hudsons Rd in Greenpark, which has been an area of interest for much of the investigation.
They will also search Jarvis Road in Motukarara and the banks of Te Waihora/ Lake Ellesmere.
A police spokesperson said the fresh searches were expected to take most of Friday and possibly Saturday morning.
Police said they were committed to finding Bao, who was last seen three months ago.
