Fire crews have safely put out a small fire at a hostel in Freemans Bay, Auckland.
Fire and Emergency was called just before 3pm to the James Liston Hotel, where there was a fire on the second floor of a premises.
Crew at the scene told an RNZ reporter the fire was quickly extinguished with sprinklers with help from firefighters.
There are no reports of injuries.
A fire at the Loafers Lodge hostel in Wellington last month killed five people.
