The release of a report investigating the official response to Auckland's Anniversary flooding has been delayed for more than three weeks.
Former police commissioner Mike Bush led the inquiry into the response, looking at the performance of all officials involved.
The report looked at how well Auckland Emergency Management was placed in the lead up to the severe weather and how well it responded in the initial 24-48 hours.
It also considered whether a state of emergency should have been recommended earlier, and what the consequences of that not happening were.
The review was due in early March, but had its deadline pushed to mid-March due to Cyclone Gabrielle.
Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown told RNZ the current hold up was due to some individuals asking for more time, but not the mayor's office.
He said in a statement that he was just as keen as everybody else to receive the findings of the review.
The mayor said both he and the council had seen excerpts from the review.
In February, Brown apologised for the slow communication at the start of the crisis.
