In pictures: Downpour compounds Auckland's weather woes

Auckland has experienced another deluge overnight, with more widespread flooding reported.

With the rain came the wind. Auckland Emergency Management said trees came down with some falling on homes.

Evacuations took place in suburbs such as Mount Roskill where floodwaters reached dangerous heights.

Sections of motorways across the city were closed for some time because they were inundated with water and could not be passed.

Sajnana Kumar lives above the restaurant Raj Vatika on Dominion Rd in Auckland. The area badly flooded on Friday, prompting him to build a plywood barrier in the shop doorway and concrete up a vent but water still came in this morning.
