The man charged with murdering a woman in the Napier suburb of Marewa last month has pleaded not guilty.
Arohaina Henare, died at a home on Nuffield Avenue early in the morning on Friday, 18 November.
A 48-year-old man known to her was arrested two days later.
He appeared in court Friday morning via video link from prison, after a delay due to an emergency in the cells.
He will appear in court for a name suppression hearing in February.
