The victim of a stabbing at a Christchurch park on 14 November has died.

The man, who had been walking his dog, was found with multiple stab wounds about 6.20am last Monday, near the Pages Road entrance of Bexley Park.

Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves said he died at Christchurch Hospital today.

"Police would like to extend their sincere condolences to the victim's family and friends; this is an understandably traumatic time and police are working closely with next of kin as the investigation progresses," Reeves said.

Last Wednesday an 18-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were arrested in relation to the assault.

Bailey Messervy appeared via videolink in the Christchurch District Court last Thursday charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded in custody until his next appearance on 7 December.

A woman alleged to have been at the scene of the stabbing faces charges of being an accessory after the fact.

Police were reviewing charges following the man's death, Reeves said.

Both people were arrested after police raided two properties on a street near the park.
