A teenager and a woman have been charged over the stabbing of a man in Christchurch early on Monday morning.

A man was stabbed multiple times while walking his dog in the Bexley Park area.

He remains in Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition.

This evening police raided two properties in Corhampton Street in the suburb of Aranui.

Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves, who has been heading the inquiry, said two people were spoken to.

One, an 18-year-old man, has now been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He is due to appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow, she said.

The other, a 23-year-old woman, has been charged as an accessory after the fact. She will appear in court at a later date.

Yesterday police said they were looking for a small white car and two people of interest.

The New Zealand Herald reported that a white car could be seen at one of the properties searched today.

Police thanked members of the public who had come forward to share valuable information.
