A man wearing orange high-vis and a woman in a long white dress seen leaving the scene of a stabbing in Christchurch yesterday are being sought by police.
A man remains in a critical condition in hospital after he was attacked when walking his dog along Pages Road near Bexley Park.
Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves said police investigating the incident were interested in talking to a man and woman who were seen leaving in a small white vehicle near the park entrance about 5.10am yesterday.
The man was believed to be in his 20s and was wearing an orange high-vis top, a hat and shorts.
The woman was believed to have been wearing a long white dress.
"We are interested in the vehicle and in identifying the occupants, as we believe they may be able to assist our investigation team," Reeves said.
"We urge anyone with information to please get in touch with Police."
Police sid they were aware of people in the community with information relating to the incident who were yet to come forward.
"Anyone who withholds information from police in relation to the ongoing investigation or is found to be assisting the primary person(s) responsible could end up facing serious charges themselves, so we would urge people to make contact with police at the earliest opportunity and tell us what you know," Reeves said.
