Police appeal for information after teenager injured in hit-and-run

Police are appealing for information after a 16-year-old girl was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Ōtara last night.

In a statement, police said the girl was hit by car as she left her house on Cobham Crescent at around 11.12pm.

The driver of the car then drove away without checking on the victim who was subsequently taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the car involved in the hit-and-run was described as a grey hatchback.

Police are urging anyone with relevant information which could help identify and locate the vehicle and driver to contact them on 105 referencing event number P052537740.
