A west Auckland fuel station has been badly damaged by an especially severe overnight ram raid.
A vehicle was used to break into and rob the Mobil fuel station in Oratia at about 2.30am.
The offenders used a stolen car to break into the concrete wall at the front of the building, and escaped in a second vehicle before police arrived.
Decisions on government solutions for the ram raids in Auckland and Waikato - including funding for things like bollards - are expected to go to Cabinet for sign-off on Monday.
