Some cars have been moved but despite police claiming they are making "good progress", hundreds of protesters' vehicles are still clogging the roads around Parliament.
Assistant Police Commissioner Richard Chambers, who is also the head of the police operation overseeing the protest activity at Parliament grounds, has provided an update.

Yesterday, protesters occupying the area for the ninth day were given an ultimatum by police to move their cars or they would be towed away. Police reiterated that warning this morning.
But a tow truck operator said some towies sympathised with the protesters and would not move the cars.
As of midday today, there was still no sign of towing services to remove more than 400 vehicles illegally parked or blocking the way near Parliament.
In an update on Wednesday aftenoon, Chambers said police had made good progress with influencers in the group who have been asking protesters to move vehicles.
A number of vehicles had voluntarily moved from the bus hub at the end of Lambton Quay, but police say lots of new protesters have also arrived.
Chambers said police were grateful to the towing operators from around New Zealand who have offered their services and they were ready to go.
"Following yesterday's announcement by the commissioner, we have had some positive engagement with several groups, and we have noted a willingness to resolve the current situation.
"Police now have tow capability available and work continues to secure additional resources."
But he said police would exercise judgment in their tactics and continue to urge protesters to move their vehicles voluntarily to free parking provided at Sky Stadium or elsewhere.
"As the commissioner alluded to yesterday, this remains an incredibly challenging and complex situation to manage.
Police are taking care not to escalate matters unnecessarily."
He said there had been an influx of protesters at Parliament today, including children, but the crowd had been orderly.
Chambers said the request to clear the area included removing all structures, such as tents and marquees, the protesters had set up.
"We've been very clear in our intent to unblock the roads and protestors have had ample opportunity to comply with the law and the standard conditions for all protests and demonstrations on Parliament grounds."
