An 11-year-old child has been referred to Youth Aid Services, after a fleeing driver incident in Rotorua.

Police say an officer was on patrol around Mamaku about 7pm on Friday when they saw a car hit the curb.
The officer signalled the driver to stop, but they did not and police followed the car to a house where they spoke to the young driver.
Four other children, all aged under 10, were passengers in the vehicle.
Police said no one was injured but the car was damaged.
