The 70-year-old was reported missing on 9 November and was located by police alone in a house near her Tranmere Road home in the suburb of Sandringham on Saturday.

She was found in a critical condition and remains in a critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit in hospital.

When she was located she did not show any signs of physical injuries but was extremely dehydrated, police said.

Police staff gave her first aid when she was found before the ambulance arrived and she was transported to hospital.

The house where Li was located was an address that was known to her and that she had access to, but that was unoccupied by the homeowner for the entire time that she was missing, police said.

"While police are still working to piece together the full circumstances around Cindy's movements, at this stage of our enquiries we do not currently suspect foul play or third party involvement in her disappearance," Detective Senior Sergeant Geoff Baber said in a statement.

He thanked the Sandringham community for their assistance in the case saying the focus was now on Cindy's recovery and well-being.
