An elderly woman and her son are in a serious but stable condition after being attacked in the woman's home in Napier this morning.

The assault happened between 7am and 8am.
Police would like to hear from people who were in the Nelson Park and Kennedy Road areas before and at around that time, and may have noticed anything suspicious.
