Man critically injured after falling from moving car dies

A 28-year-old man who was critically injured in South Auckland last month has died in hospital.

Police released images of a light-coloured vehicle as part of their investigation of an incident where a man who fell from a moving vehicle in Māngere.

In a statement, police said Kimleang Youn, who was also known by his nickname Heng, died at the end of last week.

Police were in the process of notifying the man's family, who reside overseas, since his death.

Kimleang sustained critical injuries after falling from a vehicle he was travelling in on Robertson Road in Māngere on 28 April. The vehicle did not stop.

Police are treating the circumstances as suspicious.

Police have spoken with people who came to Kimleang's aid, but said there were still other people they would like to hear from.

They saod they were aware that some people at the scene may have been recording at the time emergency services arrived, and they would like those people to speak to them.
