The prospect of being able to leave the country for a holiday in Australia raises the question about what happens if either country has a Covid-19 outbreak, and the borders snap shut.

The call for a trans-Tasman travel bubble have been getting louder and today there has been more clarity on a time line with the government working towards April.
People in Auckland were keen on the chance for a holiday in Australia, but they wanted full cover travel insurance if they went.
Flight Centre general manager of product Victoria Courtney said the company worked with Covermore travel insurance but their offering only covered customers if they got Covid-19 themselves.
Everything else was out of the question.
"Changes with regards to lockdowns - it doesn't cover you as a result of governments changing stance on lockdown."
Travel Agents' Association president Brent Thomas said only certain aspects of Covid-19 could be covered by travel insurance, so customers would need to read the fine print.
"Where they may not have cover is if the borders get shut and they have to come back and pay for MIQ - those kinds of costs may not be covered."
He said they had been inundated with customers wanting some clarity.
