Police have found a car they believe was involved in a hit-and-run in Lower Hutt.

A woman was left with serious injuries from the crash in Taita on Saturday.
Officers recovered a grey Mitsubishi Diamante at a Lower Hutt property, but have yet to identify who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Police are encouraging the driver to come forward.
A forensic examination of the car is expected to begin today.
