Police seeking woman who witnessed altercation before man's death in Opua

Police are calling for witnesses to come forward as the investigation into the death of a man in Opua in Northland last Thursday continues.

A 14-year-old male has been charged with the murder of Bram Willems, 22, and will appear in the High Court in Whangārei on 4 February.

Investigators believe there was a woman who witnessed an earlier altercation outside of the Work and Income building on Kawakawa's main street at around 10pm on Thursday.

She was not involved in the incident, but police said it was important they spoke with her.

Police were also looking for sightings of a silver Toyota Altezza seen in Kawakawa, Opua and Kerikeri late on Thursday and into Friday morning.
