A gorse fire which was treatening a house in Waikouaiti near Dunedin is now out.
The blaze has burned through five hectares near Waikouaiti and has been contained.
Crews were called to the blaze, which was three hectares in size, shortly before 1pm.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said the fire was out and crews were just dampening down hot spots.
At its peak six crews and three helicopters were fighting the fire.
At one stage, it was threatening a house, but a Fire and Emergency spokesperson said no buildings were damaged.
Firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading to a nearby pine plantation.
