One person has died following a crash on part of State Highway 1 in Marlborough.
Police were alerted to the two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Sheffield Street in Riverlands about 1.30pm.
Another person sustained minor injuries.
State Highway 1 was closed in the area.
Motorists were advised to expect delays and avoid the area.
