A teenage girl was assaulted in the Mid-Canterbury town of Ashburton on Monday.

Police said they were investigating after the girl was assaulted close to the Ashburton Walkway, near the Ashburton Dog Park on Monday afternoon.
A spokesperson said the victim did not suffer any injury and is being offered support.
Police have so far refused to provide further details, but they want to hear from anyone using the path between 1pm and 4pm on Monday.
