The death of a five-month-old baby in Whangarei has been referred to a coroner, following a post-mortem today.
Paramedics called the police yesterday morning after the baby was found unresponsive at an address in the suburb of Kensington.
A spokesperson says the infant died despite the efforts of staff at the scene.
Police had been called to the property the previous evening.
