A man has died following a crash between a truck and a ute near Waiuku.
Police were called to the crash in Karioitahi which occurred at about 7.25pm at the intersection of Awhitu Rd and Marae o Rehia Rd.
A police spokesperson said the driver of the ute was critically injured and later died at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit is at the scene.
Awhitu Rd will be closed for several hours and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
