Grow Otautahi will feature botanical displays, panel discussions and a series of workshops in partnership with Lincoln University.

The festival director, Sandi Macrae, says the three-day event will give people the opportunity to meet with food, landscape and gardening experts.

She says the free festival will also cater to children, with a school garden programme being run by horitculturalist Rachel Vogan.

Ms Macrae says she hopes the event will become an annual fixture on the Canterbury events calendar.
