He was due to appear in Manukau District Court today.

Detective Inspector Colin Higson of Counties Manukau CIB said initial enquiries indicated that a woman was stabbed and two other people were hit by a car.

"The woman with stab wounds and the male who was hit by a car have both been discharged from hospital. Tragically the 32-year-old woman who was hit by a vehicle died at the scene," he said.

"Police are still in the process of notifying her next of kin and are not able to release her name at this stage. There are still a number of enquiries underway at this point and police cannot rule out the possibility of further charges being laid."

Emergency services were called to the Mahunga Drive area at 3.40pm on Thursday.

On Friday, police were still trying to figure out what happened at the commercial address and a scene examination continued.

A post mortem would be conducted later on Friday.
