One person has died and two are injured following a serious crash between a car and a motorbike in Northland.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Ayrton and Peras Roads on State Highway 12 near Omanaia, north of Whangarei, at 2pm.
Police said one person was being airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.
A third person sustained minor injuries.
Fire and Emergency said the car crash sparked a scrub fire in nearby bush.
Emergency services are using a helicopter to put the fire out.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area.
