One person has died in a three vehicle crash on State Highway 1 at Ruakaka, south of Whangarei.
The crash happened just before 7pm.
Two other people have minor injuries.
The road is closed and diversions are in place.
Meanwhile another person is dead after a motorcycle crash in the Hamilton suburb of Claudelands at 6.25pm this evening.
The rider died at the scene at the intersection of Enderley Avenue and Peachgrove Road.
The road is expected to be closed for some time.
