A rāhui is in place at Maketū in the Bay of Plenty after human bones were washed up on a beach.

It's believed erosion unearthed the bones earlier this month.
On Facebook, local iwi say a urupā fell into the sea two weeks ago.
Te Puke police currently have the bones which were brought into the station in recent days.
Police are in touch with local iwi about returning them.
The rāhui includes Okurei Point, Newdicks Beach and 5-kilometres south.
During this time no shellfish or seafood can be collected for human consumption and the public are asked to stay away.
The rāhui will stay in place for six weeks.
