Man charged over Auckland Airport incident

A man has been charged after making a threatening comment on an Air New Zealand plane at Auckland Airport last night.

Police were called just before 9pm after airline staff were told about the comment by another passenger.

The 19-year-old who made the comment was taken off the plane.

He has been charged with breaching the Civil Aviation Act and will appear in Manukau District Court today.

The airport said the flight to Sydney was on the tarmac at the time of the incident.
