A car and a motorcycle have crashed in Petone, north of Wellington.
Police were alerted to the crash on the suburban Petone section of Hutt Road just before midday.
They said the motorcyclist had serious injuries, and had been taken to hospital.
The road was blocked for a time but was cleared by 1pm.
