The Court of Appeal has upheld an earlier High Court decision refusing bail to a man accused of murdering a Dunedin teenager, Amber-Rose Rush.
As well as the murder charge, Venod Skantha is also accused of threatening to kill.
The 16-year-old was found dead in her Dunedin home in February.
At that time Venod Skantha was working as a doctor at Dunedin Hospital.
Details of the bail decision have been suppressed.
The Court of Appeal had earlier dismissed Mr Skantha's request for name suppression.
An application has been made to move the trial away from Dunedin and that will be heard in November.
