Bus drivers in South Auckland go on strike

6:41 am on 29 May 2018

Go Bus says that it is deeply disappointed that bus drivers have called a short-notice strike in South Auckland this morning.

The strike will affect some bus services between 7.30am and 9.30am, although the company's Ministry of Education services will not be affected.

Go Bus chief operating officer Nigel Piper said the company was negotiating with the First Union and has offered a 2 percent pay rise.

Passengers can find information on individual bus route disruptions from Auckland Transport's website.

There has been a number of bus-driver strikes in Auckland this month over pay and work conditions.
