A Waikato man reported to have a gun is in police custody.

Police said two people in Ngāruawāhia alerted them to a man with a gun at 9.30am.
They stopped a car outside the town with the arrested man and two women inside.
No gun was found.
Police said no formal charges had been laid yet.
