Grapes cleared over foam contamination

Testing of grapes near the Woodbourne airbase has cleared them of any firefighting foam chemical contamination.

Grape growers asked the Defence Force to run the tests after meeting resistance from buyers.

The Ministry of Defence said the tests had found no trace of the two chemicals, PFOS and PFOA.

The Ministry for Primary Industries said it was confident there was no food safety risk for grapes or wine from firefighting foam.
