A shopkeeper has been stabbed in his head and forearms in a robbery in Waikato.

Police said two men carrying knives entered the Meremere Suprette and Takeaways about half past eleven this morning.
The pair demanded money and cigarettes and a fight broke out before they fled.
Police said the shopkeeper was in a moderate to serious condition and was being taken to Middlemore Hospital.
They were looking for the two men and a scene examination is underway.
