Searchers will today begin scouring a Hawke's Bay beach and river mouth for a missing French tourist.
Pierre Paludet, who is 32, was last seen on Friday morning; his car has been in the beach carpark at Haumoana since then.
Police, search and rescue personnal and surf life saving teams will today search the Haumoana reserve and estuary.
Investigators says they are keeping an open mind about his disappearance and a thorough search of the area is the next step in the enquiry.
The police are also following up a number of possible sightings of Mr Paludet, but still want to hear from anyone who might have seen him.
