More than 60 people have been searching for Gordon McLean - 63, also known as Gordy - who is described as very frail.

Mr Mclean has not been seen since walking out of a rehabilitation ward at Wakari Hospital about 3pm last Thursday.

Police said they had found nothing despite extensive searches of the surrounding suburbs including Wakari, Fraser Gully, Halfway Bush and Helensburgh.

People in those areas were urged to check their sheds, gardens and outbuildings for him, and asked that anyone with CCTV facing the street in those areas review footage and notify police if anything of interest was found.

Police have said they had serious concerns for Mr Mclean's welfare.
