A man who stabbed an elderly Southland man during a home invasion has not been found despite a two-week search, police say.
The victim, who is in his 70s, was attacked in his lounge on Main Street in Mataura on 17 June.
He has now been released from hospital.
The attacker walked into the flat at about 10pm demanding money, and stabbed the victim when he refused, police said.
Police said he was aged over 30, with light coloured skin, unshaven and of average height and build.
Police said they have visited more than 80 homes in the area seeking information, and would like to speak to anyone who has found a discarded grey hoodie or dark pants, or a weapon such as a knife, on their property.
