Police are investigating an unexplained death in the Waikato town of Te Awamutu this morning.

An ambulance was called to Hazelmere Crescent shortly after 6.30am.
Detective Senior Sergeant Nigel Keall said a 45-year-old Auckland man died at the scene.
Police were speaking with people at the house and wanted to talk to anyone who may have heard or seen anything in the area this morning, he said.
