Messages of support have been flooding during the clean-up of the cancelled Masterton event.

The three-day event was expected to have about 24,000 people attend, but was cancelled after forecasts of rain, thunderstorms and hail.

Event manager Jenny Gasson said the team had been inundated with messages of support.

She said a few people said they would not ask for refunds because they'd like to support the cause.

She said they had people reach out wanting to volunteer.

Ms Gasson said the clean up would continue for a few days and after a short break they would set their eyes on organising the next event for 2019.
