Dive squad called to search for missing woman

The dive squad has been called to help with the search for an Auckland woman who has been missing since Monday.

Pat Wearn, aged 73, who has Alzheimer's, went for a walk yesterday lunchtime from her home in Torbay, Auckland.

Police say they hold grave concerns for Pat Wearn, 73, who has Alzheimer's disease.

A fully-clothed woman was seen coming out of the sea at Long Bay on Monday afternoon.

Search and rescue teams, volunteers and a police helicopter and boat have been looking for her and police are still asking for people to check outbuildings.

They said the dive squad was travelling up from Wellington to search waterways near the woman's home in Caversham Drive in Torbay.
