Pat Wearn, aged 73, who has Alzheimer's, went for a walk yesterday lunchtime from her home in Torbay.

Police said they received reports of a fully-clothed woman coming out of the water at Long Bay yesterday afternoon.

The search covered Long Bay, Browns Bay and Torbay.

Senior Sergeant Andrew Burdett said police were increasingly concerned for Mrs Wearn, as she has been out overnight.

He asked people in the area to check their sheds and outbuildings.
