Woman admits 284 visa fraud charges involving Filipino dairy workers

A woman facing multiple charges of visa fraud involving Filipino dairy workers has pleaded guilty in the Hamilton District Court today.

Loraine Jayme, 35, has admitted 284 charges, including forgery, supplying false information and obtaining by deception.

Jayme is a dual Filipino-New Zealand national.

The charges were laid by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and related to fraud involving work visa applications submitted by Filipinos to work in the New Zealand dairy industry.

Jayme was arrested in October last year, following an investigation by Immigration New Zealand.

She will be sentenced in October.
